Today is Earth Day, and this year, Earth Day’s 2025 theme is OUR POWER, OUR PLANET, calling for everyone to unite around renewable energy so we can triple clean electricity by 2030.
It’s interesting then to ask here in the UK how weather affects renewable energy, as, despite changes in our climate, one of the biggest influences on renewables has been around harnessing energy and developing the storage capacity of energy plants to meet consumer demands. – and all of this is in fact increasing significantly.

Importantly, though, it’s very much about raising awareness, whether it’s a Bristol artist marking Earth Day with a mural to inspire, a professional cyclist talking about how you can be both a pro athlete and an environmentalist, or the Rugby League Champions looking at sustainability on World Earth Day 2025.
It’s very much, then, about how to engage people in creative and meaningful ways.
