Last November, COP30 came to Devon, with the ‘We Are All People of Power’ film and talk arriving in Honiton. This month, the We Are All People of Power exhibition and film has come to Exmouth. And next month, we will have the chance to see this in Sidmouth.
FREE EXHIBITION: 4TH MARCH – 16TH APRIL
Kicking things off, Polly Meyrick’s exhibition “We Are All People of Power” will be on show at Sidmouth Library as of Wednesday 4th March, running to 16th April – as a series of portraits of Devon people celebrating the human stories behind the energy transition and its far-reaching impact on communities.

FREE FILM EVENING: 16TH APRIL
The portraits will then move to Kennaway House for the showing of the film of the project.
The final event will take place on 16th April, when Polly’s eight portraits will be transferred from the library to the Cellar Bar for viewing along with a screening or her film, an expert Q&A session and stalls with information relating to renewable energy. It will be an evening of celebration and engagement with local projects and expertise.

Polly’s project is part of the 2024 Artist Residency at the Regen Art Lab, an interdisciplinary collaboration between Regen’s clean energy experts and UK-based artists. And going onto Regen’s own website, we can look at the Case study: We Are All People of Power with Polly Meyrick:
We Are All People of Power is a striking portrait and film series created by artist Polly Meyrick during her residency with Regen’s Art Lab programme. The project celebrates eight individuals in Devon who are quietly and powerfully shaping the transition to a low-carbon future—through cycling, farming, public engagement, and community energy. Combining hand-drawn ink portraits with recorded interviews, Polly invites viewers to connect with the people behind climate action and see themselves as part of the story.
Both events are free – so do come along and see for yourself!
